champagne life
I had some delicious chorizo down the road last night…. Just pinchos. Originally I had planned to come back to the hostel, have a few beers, then go to the club with the whole group… But Barcelona gets fucking cold at night. It was so windy yesterday… Apparently there was a wind storm… It’s actually disgusting if you’re out and there’s a whole bunch of dirt being blown around…
So I didn’t go out, instead I spent the whole night on FB chat with my German boyfriend! Ha! He was supposed to come to my hostel and we would have gone to rambla del raval which is like.. The less touristy la rambla. But the metro stops running at midnight, so he wouldn’t have been able to get home without a cab, which is really too expensive since he is on the other side of town. He is so sweet! Have you ever imagined a German guy with such a soft voice lol I like it!
Today I got up and went on a tour of el gotic.. We saw the place where Colombus met Ferdinand and isabella to tell them about the new world O_O also some roman columns and city walls, the oldest synagogue in Europe.. Rather cool stuff. The tour guide is from England… He said he came to Barcelona on holiday 5 years ago and never went home lol!! After the tour we went to the bar and got some champagne for 1 euro (keep in mind this is like 3pm—smh I would develop alcoholism if I lived in Spain). I took my champagne high to la rambla and had a bocadilla and some delicious pastry down one of the side streets. It’s impossible to know your way around these places, I think… You can only be sure of the direction. Now I’m back at the hostel… I’ll probably go to see flamenco later, since I know my German boyfriend will be watching football (Germany v The Netherlands is at 845) … The Euro cup is cock blocking me (for lack of a better term)
I’m upset at how easily you can find super fresh croissants around here— in brooksville I literally scour the city to find a decent croissant and honestly I still haven’t found any
